We have been given permission by Bishop Robert Guglielmone to start a Capital Campaign at Sacred Heart for $150,000 and to contract with Mark Clancy, KSQ Design Architects, to help us repurpose our rectory.
The Church had significant damage to the basement electrical panels in the floods October 2015. As a result, significant repairs including redo the electrical panels and wiring in the vacant rectory and to include moving the panels from the basement into the first and second floor of the rectory. The preliminary cost of the electrical work alone is estimated to be between $100,000 to $150,000 and requires hiring an architect.
Mark Clancy has been chosen because of his familiarity with the rectory building due to his previous work with the Charleston Catholic School’s addition/renovation and our church bathrooms.
This is an opportunity to re-purpose the rectory space for use by the parish and or the school with the understanding that the rectory would never be used as a living space for priests.
Capital Campaign Prayer
at this time in the life of our Parish,
we turn to You with grateful hearts
for what we have,
and with great anticipation for what is yet to be.
Bless us with a sense of unity,
a spirit of cooperation,
and a generous sacrificial heart
as we face the responsibilities
of this Capital Campaign.
We know there is much to do.
We believe our goals are rooted
in Your Word and in Your Work.
Please guide us, strengthen us, and
bless us with Your Presence,
now and through the years to come.
In Jesus’ Name we pray.
